CSL Aurora project in Broadmeadows

From 2018 to mid-2020 Gearon Civil was engaged to carry out the civil and stormwater package for the CSL Aurora project in Broadmeadows. The work included bulk earthworks, pavements, roadworks, conduit installation, and stormwater to the value of approximately $11M. Gearon assisted us in extensive trenching and dealt with the completion of high risk works calmly and in a safe manner. Throughout the project I found Gearon Civil very capable of delivering all works that were requested to high standard. They were able to work in well with our project management team throughout the job and assisted in working through the design following site changes throughout the project. We were pleased with the supervisors assigned to the project; they were able to coordinate works effectively and raised any upcoming issues promptly. Any changes or issues were dealt with quickly, o a high standard and to a tight timeline. The project was completed without delays and I would be willing to recommend Gearon Civil for projects of a similar scope and complexity.

Bulk Earthworks and Roadworks for Tarago Water Treatment Plant

tarago

Baulderstone and United Group, operating as a joint venture, were engaged by Melbourne Water Corporation to deliver the Tarago Water Treatment Plant in September 2007. The Project, located in Drouin West in West Gippsland, was completed several months ahead of schedule and under budget. The project was delivered in an alternative alliance contract with Baulderstone and United Group in partnership with GHD, SKM and Melbourne Water.

The broad scope of works included the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the new Water Treatment Plant to treat up to 25 billion litres per year (70 ML per day capacity) based on dissolved air flotation filtration (DAFF) and ultraviolet disinfection (UV). The project involved bulk earthworks and roadwork’s, buildings and structures, underground and above ground pipe work, pump stations, water retaining structures, mechanical and electrical installation and commissioning.

In October 2007, one month after project award, Gearon Civil Pty Ltd (Gearon) were engaged to conduct all bulk earthworks and roadwork’s for the water treatment plant as well as the road widening to the existing Neerim Road. Following a rapid start, Gearon successfully completed their scope of works within the required time and enabled the commencement of structural trades to commence works at the earliest possible date.

I found both the management and workforce of Gearon worked very cooperatively with our team with an open and collaborative approach and were genuinely aligned with our safety and quality culture and project goals. Gearon remained price competitive throughout the course of the project and also completed a number of other smaller packages for various elements of the civil works with the same level of commitment and expertise.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Gearon Civil Pty Ltd for similar work and look forward to the opportunity of doing business with them again.
