Executive Summary

Gearon Civil was pleased to help SEPA deliver the early works package at Hallam Station.

The project provided the normal challenges of a large-scale rail project with the co-ordination of many work fronts.

As with many rail corridor projects, the condition of the existing subgrade posed challenges throughout, working collaboratively with SEPA and their engineers, the project managed to find economic and efficient solutions.

The continued awarding of work packages throughout the project resulted in one of the highest valued projects Gearon Civil has undertaken to date.

As the trains resumed services on the new alignment, we removed the level crossing and old pavements, reconstructing Hallam Road in multiple 24-hour road and rail occupations.

The final portion of our work involved the construction of new station commuter car parks.
