Overview

As part of the Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal, Gearon Civil were engaged to complete the removal of redundant level crossings at 4 main intersections; Grange Road, Koornang Road, Murrumbeena Road and Poath Road.

Works were completed during full road shutdowns shift working with alternating crews.

A carpark upgrade was also completed in July 2019 at Huntingdale Station. This included the removal of contaminated material, installation of new delineation fencing, and construction of a new asphalt carpark.

Executive Summary

This project provided significant challenges with a large-scale 24hr/day rail occupation project conducted in a particularly tight timeframe, with multiple interfaces, public interaction, and the co-ordination of many trades and work front.

We are proud to have been involved with this great piece of Melbourne infrastructure and to have successfully delivered this challenging project with a high level of safety and quality outcomes.
